About Us

The Alliance of Change Makers is a shared platform of like-minded people who are of the view that ethics is at the epicentre of public service. It is considered desirable to develop a commonality of thinking on various issues of public governance and of strengthening our resolve of spreading the message of ethical governance.

It is a platform where we talk about embedding ethics in our work, where we celebrate the best practices introduced by our colleagues, where we share our ideas of elevating the quality of public service, where we carry out research on related issues.

We are looking for new and innovative ideas. We are looking for new projects. We are looking for new areas of further research. And we thought of the great resource we have for this purpose. That resource is YOU.

The Community is an intended platform for mutual sharing. The Platform is visualized as a group of civil servants – both serving and retired – who have a common conviction, a common belief. They are of the view that in addition to being efficient and honest, it is equally, if not more, important to adopt ethical standards in the delivery of services.

We, the members of Alliance of Change Makers in Public Services, believe that:

  • Delivery of services to the public can be improved if it is based on ethics.
  • Most of the civil servants want to be ethical; what comes in their way is their inability to make informed choices about what is ethical and what is not.
  • Identifying and celebrating men and women of great ethics would inspire other civil servants to emulate.
  • Ethics of public service is bigger than personal honesty.
  • We will happily provide complete, accurate, verifiable answers to questions examining various issues and share those answers for public scrutiny.
  • We have the onus of evolving the standards of ethics in public services to act as bench marks.

Naitik Bharat

We had submitted to the Prime Minister a suggestion to give a call for ‘Naitik Bharat’ for ending corruption everywhere, whether in public sector or in private sector. Though we have not received a response from the Prime Minister, but we believe it is an idea whose time will come soon. And the movement of ethics should start from the public sector.
